These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Legato (“we”, “us”) about the Legato app. By using Legato you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
01What Legato is
Legato is a music player for the gym. It lets you control your music, track your workouts and lock distracting apps while you train. It is not a coaching, medical or health service.
02Your account
- You can use Legato without an account, or create one to back up and sync your progress.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Legato.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account › Delete account.
03Legato Pro subscriptions
Legato is free to use. Legato Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks extra features.
- Plans and price: Legato Pro is offered with a weekly or a yearly period. The price and period of each plan are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free trial: if a free trial is offered, it is shown before you buy. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription automatically. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Manage or cancel: you can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time in your Apple ID account settings after purchase (on iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds: payments are handled by Apple, and refund requests go through Apple under its policies.
- Restore: on a new phone, use Settings › Restore purchase with the same Apple ID.
- Price changes: if the price changes, you will be informed in advance as the App Store requires, and you can cancel before it applies.
Deleting the app or your Legato account does not cancel your subscription. Turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID settings.
If your subscription ends, Pro features stop, but the free features and your data remain.
04Training safety
Legato gives no medical or fitness advice. Train within your limits, and ask a doctor if you are not sure exercise is right for you. You train at your own risk.
05Locked apps
Legato uses Apple’s Screen Time to lock the apps you choose while you train. With hard lock (Pro), your apps can’t be unlocked until your workout is finished, so only turn it on if that is what you want. If a workout is never ended, the apps unlock by themselves after a few hours. Don’t rely on Legato in situations where you must be reachable or must use a locked app.
06Music
- Apple Music and SoundCloud play under their own terms, and may need their own subscription.
- Spotify opens in the Spotify app; Legato doesn’t play Spotify music itself.
- My Tracks plays files you import. Only import music you have the right to use.
07Fair use
Don’t misuse Legato. In particular, don’t copy, resell or redistribute the app; don’t reverse-engineer it or try to get around its features or payments; don’t interfere with our servers; and don’t use it to break the law.
08Your content and ours
Your splits, sessions and imported music remain yours. The Legato app, its design, characters, artwork and name belong to us, and you may use them only within the app.
09Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Legato running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of bugs. We may change or remove features. If we make important changes to these terms, we will let you know in the app.
10Liability
Legato is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for lost data. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer law.
11Ending
You can stop using Legato at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
12Law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
13App Store terms
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA) also applies to your use of Legato: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
